Mod9 ASR Engine: Licensing

The Mod9 ASR Engine may be used under a variety of licenses:

  • Evaluation: for initial development purposes, up to 180 days.
  • Usage-based: licensees are trusted to report their own usage to billing@mod9.com.
    • Basic: starting at half a cent per minute; compare to cloud-hosted competitors priced 10x higher.
    • Custom Units: customers may define usage on a different basis, with negotiable pricing.
      • Per User: e.g. $1/user/month for a B2C SaaS product.
      • Per Seat: e.g. $10/agent/month for a B2B contact center integration.
      • Per Port: e.g. to express peak concurrency during the "busy hour" for a communications platform.
    • Setup Fee: provides installation support and unlimited usage for an initial period.
    • Unlimited: guarantees a fixed price for scenarios with unpredictable scalability.
  • Perpetual and/or Source Code: please contact sales@mod9.com to discuss these opportunities.

Evaluation License Agreement

Your use of the ASR Engine and related models (collectively, the "Software")
constitutes acceptance of this Evaluation License Agreement (the "License") by
you or your organization (the "Licensee").

Under the License, Mod9 Technologies ("Mod9") grants to the Licensee the
non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to use the Software for evaluation
purposes for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of
installation of the Software for the sole purpose of determining whether the
Software meets the Licensee’s business requirements and whether the Licensee
desires to obtain a commercial license for continued use of the Software. The
License does not allow for general commercial use of the Software by the
Licensee, such as deployment in a production environment with end users.

To use the Software beyond the term and scope of the License, please refer to
https://mod9.io/licensing and contact <sales@mod9.com> for more information.

Acceptance of the License solely through your use of the Software limits some
functionality of the Software. To enable full functionality of the Software, the
Licensee must formally accept the License by either:
 (i) starting the Software with the command-line option "--accept-license=yes";
(ii) or setting the environment variable "ASR_ENGINE_ACCEPT_LICENSE=yes".

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS-IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN
NO EVENT WILL MOD9 OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR DATA USE, ARISING FROM THE LICENSE OR USE OF THE
SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THESE LIMITATIONS
WILL APPLY NOTWITHSTANDING THE FAILURE OF THE ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY REMEDY.

The License is the complete agreement concerning the license granted hereunder
and may be amended only in writing executed by the Licensee and Mod9. The License
shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California,
without regard to conflict of law provisions.
